Hi there!
Welcome – if you love sport, you’ve come to the right place. Not only do I love sport, it’s how I make a living and it has always been my passion.
I played competitive hockey and golf at school, university and at club level. I even coached a bit of hockey along the way! My other sporting loves over the years – as participant – also included squash and cricket.
I started my broadcasting career at MFM 92.6 in Stellenbosch. Initially as a jock on breakfast, drive and even the odd rock speciality shows, before finding my niche in sports reporting.
I made the move to Joburg in 2008 when I joined Classic FM as Sport Editor. I eventually made the move to 702/Cape Talk, but whereas radio got me hooked on broadcasting, TV has afforded me the most exciting opportunities.
I joined SuperSport’s 24 hour news channel Blitz in late 2008 as a journalist in studio and field presenter. Working for one of the largest sport broadcasters in the world meant the chance to report on a whole host of major events, including the 2009 Confederations Cup, the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the Indian Premier League.
Golf, however, has always been my first love. So reporting on the 2012 Open Championship and the 2012 PGA Championship was, quite simply, a dream come true. Since joining SuperSport’s golf crew I’ve also worked extensively on local golfing events, including the Nedbank Golf Challenge and the Volvo Golf Champions.
So keep reading, keep watching & keep following, and most importantly – keep it on the short stuff!
